REQUIREMENTS: An ABET qualification is essential, as well as the ability to read and write. Prior experience in performing manual tasks is an asset.
Applicants should possess knowledge of basic equipment and appliance operations, lawn care processes, pruning and trimming techniques, dilution and mixing of chemicals, and maintenance procedures for efficient machine performance.
Additionally, water utilization and health and safety protocols should be understood, and an understanding of garden maintenance and government legislation is beneficial.
The successful candidate should possess strong communication skills and the capacity to work in a team, as well as a commitment to punctuality, productivity, and loyalty. Working in or near rivers, dams, canals, and confined spaces must also be possible.
DUTIES: Cleaning and maintaining grounds, canals, pump stations, etc. is the primary responsibility, as well as repairing structures and tools such as buildings, fences, and benches with the use of hand and power tools.
Mixing and spraying or spreading chemicals/herbicides/fertilizers is also part of the job description, as is providing upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, and other ground features. Caring for plants and trees, raking and mulching, and irrigating plants and lawns are also included in the duties.
