Job Purpose:

To ensure that new services and changes to existing services are introduced in a controlled and non-disruptive manner to the ICT production environment, also managing and maintaining the current Windows System Environment (ICT Infrastructure Landscape). Candidate may be required to supervise or train other members of the staff on operating system options and various aspects of program functions with Windows and Microsoft applications.

Key performance areas:

  • To ensure new services and changes to existing services are introduced in a controlled and non-disruptive manner to the ICT production environment
  • Apply patches to major subsystems and services, roles, and file-system components within a Windows Systems environment;
  • Monitor and review system logs and detect and troubleshoot problems;
  • Control system access and security aspects of critical systems;
  • To make input into operating policies, procedures and guidelines;
  • To report on performance and to identify and escalate performance constraints;
  • Provide 24×7 support on critical systems;
  • Demonstrate day-to-day work adherence to security best practices, access control and security policies;
  • Manage cloud environments,

Requirements

Required Minimum Education/training:

  • A Degree/Diploma or appropriate qualification in the related field;
  • Windows Server Administrative Associate
  • Certified virtualisation professional (Hyper V or VMWare)
  •  M365 certification will be advantageous

Required Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant Windows Server experience
  • 3 years experience in Infrastructure Information Technology
  • Exposure to a broad range of infrastructure technologies.
  • 1 years experience in Change or Release Management
  •  Familiarity with SAN storage
  •  Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and DHCP concepts;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange Server and supported clients e.g. Outlook, WebApp, etc. and mail concepts e.g. SMTP, Hyper V etc.; and
  •  Familiarity with SAN storage
  • Experience in troubleshooting technical problems involving software and operating systems; (both developed and off-the-shelf products)
