Requirements:
- Diploma in Nature Conservation or Environmental Management
- A minimum of one year of Project Management experience
- Minimum two years experience in Arcgis map software packages and general GIS platform use
- Computer literacy in MS Office packages
- Code 08 driver’s license
- Relevant experience in conservation, with sound knowledge and understanding of alien invasive species (identification, growth patterns, ecological impacts)
- Experience in health and safety management and compliance
Responsibilities:
- Undertake data collection, mapping and monitoring of alien invasive species in the Kruger National Park and surrounding areas.
- Collect, download, check, and maintain data collected by monitoring teams
- Identify alien invasive species distribution patterns and densities
- Capture and process field-related data and compile reports.
- Manage all monitoring teams and field guards in monitoring projects.
- Coordination and mentoring of EPWP contractors
- Ad hoc scientific support to scientists, managers and visiting researchers by providing data if required.
- Ensure the management of quality, production and monitoring of task-based operations linked to the project
- Ensure compliance to program standards/norms and Health and Safety requirements
- Assist with the financial management of the project
- Ensure database information for the project is maintained and updated
- Assist with administrative management, Asset, stock and stores management
- Assist and coordinate training and social interventions
- Report on project progress
